NOTE: buckwheat, quinoa and amaranth are not in the grasses botanical family (15 on the RDPS), so these “grain-like foods” may be included in a GRAIN-FREE diet. For breakfast on other rotation days, consider the Starchy Vegetables category or Thickener category for breakfast ideas to deliver the “fullness” and “mouthfeel” of grains. Consider hash browns, mashed potatoes, squash (ie. with maple syrup and butter if permitted on the rotation day), sweet potatoes… Also consider legumes such as chickpeas and chickpea flour as a possible ingredient. Also, cassava/tapioca. Nuts and seeds can add crunch, as well as quality protein, fat, and minerals.
